Design, impact, sprint

Step into an intensive, international learning experience where you tackle real-world sustainability challenges with students from diverse disciplines.

In this Blended Intensive Programme, you’ll apply design thinking and iterative methods to create and test innovative business solutions under pressure. Collaborate with peers and industry experts, sharpen your intercultural skills, and leave with a validated prototype and future-ready mindset.

Teaching and learning

Online preparation, interactive workshops, a multi-day hackathon, industry challenge, expert coaching, teamwork, prototyping, validation, pitching, and reflective learning phases.

For whom?

Exchanging different perspectives and experiences is a key part of the BIP, so students from all fields are welcome.

There are no specific requirements, just curiosity, a questioning mindset, and an open mind.

Programme overview

    • Online start

      During the online preparation (via MS Teams), you will form teams, get to know each other, and begin exploring the challenge at a basic level.

    • On campus week

      The online classes are followed by an in-person week at Windesheim. 

      • Day 1: Kick-off, mindset, SDG focus, reflection
      • Day 2: Field research, insights, define challenge
      • Day 3: Ideation, concepts, creative solutions
      • Day 4: Prototyping, testing, iteration Indicate how the programme is structured over time. We will make each section a separate tab. Create a new title for each section.
      • Day 5: Final pitch, validation, reflection

    • Learning outcomes

      • You work mostly independently while collaborating with an international, multidisciplinary team.
      • You design and test a sustainable solution for a real-world challenge.
      • You use design and leadership methods to develop your ideas and see what works in practice.
      • You reflect on your teamwork, especially across cultures and under pressure, and use feedback to keep improving your skills for future projects.

Assessment

  • Performance-based: active participation in hackathon, prototype development and stakeholder validation
  • Individual reflective report/presentation.
